The M.D. of Smoky River, or commonly referred to as the Smoky River Region, is a vibrant, productive area of nearly 712,404 acres located in the Peace Country in north-western Alberta. The communities of Falher, McLennan, Girouxville, and Donnelly are within the M.D. boundaries. In total, approximately 5,000 people live in the Smoky River Region.
